- SHARED_MODEL_JITTER_RATIO = 5.0#
A group member is reconstructed via the shared clock model only when its own jitter exceeds the cleanest member’s by at least this factor. Self-fitting an already-clean stream tracks its own timestamps to sub-sample accuracy, whereas the shared model imposes a sibling’s device->dataset conversion whose slightly different effective rate compounds over the recording (measured ~6.6 ms of drift across 51 s on a clean stream that self-fit to 0.08 ms). So the sibling’s clock is borrowed only when the target is genuinely too corrupted to trust its own.
